On June 22, the D1 New Energy Vehicle Drift Show concluded perfectly at Chengdu Maojiawan Auto Park. As the world’s first new energy drift show, the event brought together six major automakers. The Ruilan 7 made its debut on the track as an “intelligent rear-wheel-drive coupe SUV” — not only completing impressive drift moves thanks to its ultra-low drag coefficient of 0.238 and rear-mounted rear-drive layout, but also earning the “Smart Drift Elf — Intelligent Driving Control Navigator” certification on the final day. This proved that a pure electric SUV priced around 115,700 yuan can deliver high performance on the track!
1. Stunning Design That Cuts Drag
When the Ruilan 7 rolled onto the track with its sleek fastback design, its low-slung body (drag coefficient just 0.238Cd) immediately caught attention. Smooth lines, hidden door handles, and an automatically adjustable rear spoiler not only reduce wind resistance by 22% during drifting at 120 km/h but also generate an extra 18 kg of downforce on the rear wheels through corners, ensuring the tires grip the road firmly.
2. Rear-Wheel Drive Control Brings Track Thrills
As the driver steps on the throttle, the Ruilan 7’s rear-mounted rear-wheel drive layout instantly unleashes its power — with a maximum motor output of 180 kW and torque of 385 Nm. Coupled with an adjustable rear-drive mode that dynamically manages power distribution, it offers an exhilarating and precise driving experience on the track.
This unmodified Ruilan 7 demonstrates remarkable handling stability and smooth cornering straight from the factory, pushing the performance boundaries of the 110,000-yuan SUV segment.
Imagine the potential when this “intelligent rear-wheel-drive coupe SUV” undergoes professional race-grade modifications — its capabilities on a dedicated race track could be even more impressive. This new energy drift show represents a significant innovation milestone as China’s automotive industry accelerates toward electrification.
The significance of the Ruilan 7’s presence on the D1 track goes far beyond a dynamic showcase. In China, where new energy vehicles lead global adoption rates, this event serves as both a concentrated display of industrial technology and a “technical declaration” by domestic brands stepping confidently into the realm of professional motorsports.
Among the many exciting moments, the debut of the NIO L60 was undoubtedly a highlight. As a family-oriented pure electric SUV under the NIO brand, the L60 sparked attention with its 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.6 seconds, a 900V high-voltage platform, and dual-motor all-wheel drive. On the track, it showcased a unique blend of “family-friendly yet race-capable” performance.

The participation of the NIO L60 in the New Energy Vehicle Drift Show not only demonstrated NIO’s technological strength in the NEV sector but also revealed the exciting potential of electric vehicles in extreme sports.
The Ruilan 7 taking on the D1 track was more than just a showcase—it symbolized the beginning of Chinese new energy vehicles challenging professional racing circuits. We look forward to more domestic models hitting the track to validate their technology, bringing better driving experiences to everyday roads!
