For car enthusiasts and thrill-seekers alike, nothing compares to the roar of engines and the smoke-filled corners of professional drifting. This year, the D1 Grand Prix will be held in China with two major stops—Chengdu in June and Dongguan in October (coinciding with AIT Expo). Now, the Chengdu event is officially open for ticket sales. Mark your calendars for June 20–22, when horsepower and precision will take center stage.
In an exciting turn for fans of motorsport and anime alike, Keiichi Tsuchiya, the real-life inspiration behind Takumi Fujiwara from Initial D and the “Drift King” of Japan, will attend the Chengdu round in person. His presence will surely ignite the crowd and boost the prestige of the event.
Joining the judging panel are legendary D1 judges Hisashi Kamimoto and Yoshinori Taniguchi, both veterans of the global drifting scene. Their expertise will ensure a professional and fair competition on the track.
China’s elite drift racers are also heading to Chengdu in full force. Zhang Shengjun, widely known as "China's Drift King," has confirmed his participation. He’ll be joined by Li Wenfeng, champion of the D1 China Round held during last year’s AIT Dongguan event.
With a lineup of both domestic champions and global talents, this year’s Chengdu showdown is set to be one of the most electrifying events in the D1 China calendar.
