From October 17 to 19, the three-day 2025 Dongguan AIT Tuning Show successfully concluded at the Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Center. Centered on the core concept of “cool cars, popular crowd, and business opportunities,” this automotive culture feast, spanning 120,000 square meters, featuring over 1,000 modified cars and more than 500 exhibitors, once again redefined the ecosystem and synergy of car modification culture. The most eye-catching highlight this year was undoubtedly the crossover between modified cars and scale models—when steel giants meet fingertip craftsmanship, a silent battle of “big versus small” quietly unfolded.

Stepping into the main exhibition area of the AIT (All In Tuning) Show feels like entering the set of Fast & Furious. From low-slung Japanese VIP-style rides to wide-body American muscle cars, and even futuristic fully electric modified vehicles, each car stands as a moving piece of art.

Unlike the bustling modified car area, the model exhibition zone feels more like a serene “art museum.” Brands such as Tomica, Maisto, Bburago, and No.1 Platform showcased multi-scale car models that capture the essence of modified cars with near-perfect detail.
Tomica: This year, Tomica was specially invited by the organizers of the Tokyo Tuning Show in Japan. Featuring classic models and collaboration editions, it attracted collectors’ attention. Founded in 1970 in Japan, Tomica initially focused on domestic Japanese cars and expanded to foreign models after 1976. With over 655 million units sold, it has long held the top market share in Japan’s miniature car toy segment. At the AIT Tuning Show, Tomica offered car model enthusiasts an immersive shopping experience, including themed scene displays and collectible showcases.

“Models are another form of life for modified cars; they let us experience the thrill of speed even within a tiny space.” — Car model collector, Kobayashi
The “big vs. small” battle is, at its core, a dialogue between two automotive cultures. Modified cars pursue “realism”—the roar of the engine, the vibration of the steering wheel, and the thrill of high-speed moments. Models, on the other hand, convey an understanding of automotive aesthetics through scale and attention to detail. While modified cars inspire model designs, models serve as a medium to promote tuning culture. This crossover has attracted a large number of young audiences, expanding the potential customer base for tuning brands. At this year’s AIT Tuning Show, activities such as the “Model Tuning Competition” and “Real Car & Model Interactive Exhibition” created new sparks where the two cultures collide.
The success of the 2025 Dongguan AIT Tuning Show lies not only in its expanding scale but also in its emphasis on “diverse interactions.” From professional racing events to car meetups, from high-level forums to model exhibitions, AIT is building a complete automotive culture ecosystem.
“In the future, we will continue to deepen the crossover between modified cars and models, launching collaborative ‘model-tuning brand editions,’” organizers said, “bringing automotive culture into everyday life in a more accessible and approachable way.”
When the steel roar of modified cars meets the serene precision of models, the “big vs. small” battle has no losers. It expands automotive culture from the single dimension of speed and passion to a multifaceted realm of art and technology. The 2025 Dongguan AIT Tuning Show stands as the perfect witness to this transformative journey.
