The Sound of "Click" from the Chassis is Every New Energy Vehicle Owner's Worst Nightmare
Some car owners jokingly say: “New energy vehicles aren't broken, they’re just too expensive to repair.”

The new energy vehicle repair industry is currently experiencing four strange phenomena:
Domestic repairs: Car manufacturers file lawsuits
Overseas repairs: Car manufacturers are being sued
Technical training: No vehicles to repair
Have vehicles to repair: No spare parts available
According to statistics, the number of new energy vehicles in China has surpassed 20 million, and early models are gradually falling out of warranty. “This isn’t a technical problem, but an ecosystem problem,” said veteran industry observer Wang Min. “Car manufacturers have monopolized the aftermarket through technical blockades, making repairs more expensive than buying a car.”

The current repair dilemma has led repair training institutions to face challenges like:
Difficulty in recruitment: Traditional recruitment methods are ineffective, and the cost of recruiting is increasing
Difficulty in conversion: Trainees fear they won’t master the skills, and even if they do, there’s nowhere to apply them
Trust issues: No tangible, verifiable success stories to prove the effectiveness
In response to these industry pain points, CATL (Contemporary Amperex Technology Co.) and JD Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement in October of this year. The collaboration will rely on JD’s nationwide "JD Car Care" network to provide battery aftermarket services, launching innovative solutions.
Technological Breakthrough: CATL has developed the CTP (Cell-to-Pack) battery ultrasonic guided wave nondestructive testing technology, which can accurately locate damages in 15 minutes without disassembling the battery pack, with an accuracy rate of over 90%, solving the issue of “reluctance to repair.”
Cost Revolution: Traditional battery repairs can start from 100,000 RMB, while CTP repair services reduce the cost to 10,000-20,000 RMB, cutting costs by over 80%.
Spare Parts Guarantee: CATL is opening its original manufacturer parts supply to cooperating repair enterprises, resolving the issue of “having the vehicle, but no spare parts.”
The training bases established by CATL in 18 provinces and cities across China are changing the game: offering a "training + certification + employment" one-stop solution. Graduates receive CATL certification and can directly enter the JD Car Care network for employment. So far, this system has trained over 8,600 professional technicians, with an employment rate of up to 95%.

"I participated in training last year, and now I earn 50,000 RMB a month." said Mr. Li, a graduate from CATL’s training base, who opened an electric vehicle repair shop in Hangzhou. “Repair shops used to refuse new energy vehicles, but now I have long lines every day.”
The partnership between CATL and JD has broken the car manufacturers' technical monopoly, establishing a new ecosystem of “original parts + professional repair + original factory warranty.” The new energy vehicle repair industry in China is undergoing a profound transformation.
